Two Australian Ruckus partners have won big in Tokyo, with the wireless vendor honouring their achievements with awards during its Big Dogs conference.
Hills Limited backed up last year's ANZ distributor of the year win with the same award this year, as well as taking out the 2016 Asia-Pacific distributor of the year gong.
“We are seeing significant demand for wireless services across the region and, thanks to Ruckus’ unique technology and partner program, we have been able to capitalise on the demand," said Daniel Lee, managing director of Hills subsidiary Lan1.
Sydney-headquartered multinational GX2 scored the coveted ANZ partner of the year trophy.
“GX2 has a strong commitment to engineering resources for their customers and is one of our highest performing partners - with a solid understanding of wi-fi technology and the ability to offer enterprise-grade support,” said Ruckus ANZ managing director Pat Devlin.
GX2 - which also has branches in Colorado, USA and London, UK - has been the headlines recently for its wireless integration work for Australia's first Holiday Inn Express in northern Sydney.
“Our ANZ and Pacific Islands business is very buoyant, however we are seeing a significant upturn in new properties in the US and Europe as well,” said GX2 global sales director Carl Jefferys.
The Tokyo Big Dogs conference, held 11 to 13 May, was one of several invitation-only events held around the world for Ruckus' top partners.
Devlin said that the Australian channel continues to "perform strongly".
“Throughout 2016, we expect to continue our momentum in Australia and New Zealand, with the help of our partners," he said. "There are new technologies and products that will come to market in 2016, which we expect will really shake things up, as well as provide the ‘plumbing’ for IoT and smart city initiatives. So, watch this space.”
