Harbour ISP names former Harbour IT boss Michael Giusti as chief executive

Harbour ISP has named former Harbour IT boss Michael Giusti as its new chief executive.

Giusti takes over from interim chief executive and Harbour IT and Harbour ISP founder Charles Tym. He told CRN he was looking forward to working with a familiar team after some recent time off.  

"Charles and I have worked together for most of our working lives, so it’s great to be back working with him," he said. "This will allow him to focus on some broader strategic initiatives and I can focus on developing and growing the business."

Giusti said with some two million new NBN connections coming online in 2019, Harbour ISP wanted to make the most of the opportunity.

"We’re investing in marketing, in our sales, and we’ve made system upgrades as well. A lot of planning and investment this year will be in preparation for 2019," he said. 

Giusti's appointment effectively replaces former Harbour ISP chief executive Adam Simpson, who was also hired out of the Harbour IT in January, but departed five months later to spend more time with family in May

"I am taking the opportunity to spend time at home with our beautiful daughters before looking for the next challenge. I have thoroughly enjoyed the growth and excitement over the last 30 years in IT and more recently Cloud and Managed Services," Simpson wrote on his LinkedIn profile at the time.

Giusti left Harbour IT in August after two years as chief executive, with former Converga chief Luke Clark appointed as his replacement.

Giusti had been with Harbour IT for more than 17 years before he left, and was general manager before taking on the top role to replace co-founder Craig Bishop.

Harbour ISP was spun out of Harbour IT after Canon Oceania bought a majority stake in the latter in 2014, integrating with its Canon Business Services unit. Canon has since increased its stake to full ownership of Harbour IT last year.
