MessageLabs has signed Hostworks to resell its range of email anti-spam and anti-virus services.
The partnership would see Hostworks route all incoming and outgoing email through MessageLabs' servers to check for viruses and spam.
It would also use MessageLabs' real-time service to rid its email stream of spam and viruses before it reaches Hostworks’ data centres.
Andrew Antal, MessageLabs director of marketing, claimed Hostworks would recieve around 20 percent margin selling the service, depending on the size of each deal and number of client sites it signed per month.
Hostworks said its clientele includes AAMI, American Express, Codan, Compass Group, News Interactive, ninemsn, SEEK, Sensis, Sony and Ticketek.
The majority of its customers rely on Hostworks to manage email systems for them.
“Two years ago, email was not regarded as a critical business application. Now email is a 24x7 application and executives want it working around the clock To do this, companies are now outsourcing their email environments to Hostworks,” said director sales and marketing, Klaus Bartosch.
