Software vendor Greentree has said it plans to strengthen its channel across eastern Australia.
The company's accounting and bookeeping software is aimed a the SMB. Peter Dickinson, Greentree’s executive director, said the market in the eastern part of Australia had to date been a weak spot for the company.
“Sydney has always been a weakness for us. Now a couple of our partners are coming into the region and hope to fill in the hole and take on the multinational vendors, like SAP and JD Edwards,” said Dickinson.
The company plans to help its current A/NZ channel partners move into the Eastern seaboard, he said.
Arguing there was plenty of opportunity in the Sydney market, Perth-based reseller Addax Solutions business development manager, Mark Foxton, said his outfit would be opening Sydney offices to support Greentree.
Greentree's Dickinson said its NZ-based partner, Verde
“Verde has been supporting a number of Australian companies, it is the potential commercial opportunity that brings them into the local market,” said Dickinson.
Star Accounting - an established Sydney partner for the past three years - also had plans to hire dedicated Greentree support staff.
“My directive from those above is to implement business development staff and make much stronger sales, boots and all,” said spokesperson Kevin Dodds.
Dickinson said the company offers its partners a “pretty scaled margin model”.
“We don’t do any service or support, that’s why we rely on partners. I believe after the initial sale of our software, partners can enjoy relationships of up-to 10 years with their customers,” he claims.
To solidify its Sydney base, Dickinson said the company had also appointed Kinetic Information Systems of Newcastle, GT Business Solutions of Sydney and McLoughlin of Sydney to build out its eastern presence.
