Employees from Genesys Australia have helped raise more than $800,000 for Very Special Kids by running in a 24-hour relay team.
The Victorian-based charity helps more than 900 families across the state who have a child with a life-threatening condition with ongoing support from diagnosis all the way through to recovery or bereavement.
A total of 10 Genesys' employees took turns to run through the day and night. This is the third year that Genesys participates in the 24 Hour Treadmill Challenge, which raised $822,668 in 2017.
"Genesys is extremely proud to support Very Special Kids and we aim to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause. This charity is especially important to us as it helped one of our staff members and her family through a difficult time when her nephew was diagnosed with a terminal illness," said Gwilym Funnell, vice president of Genesys Australia and New Zealand.
Genesys supports Very Special Kids through its own Make a Difference Foundation, a program that coordinates regular donations and fundraising efforts from staff.
