Fujitsu plans three-year apps business expansion

Fujitsu is looking to double the size of its applications business in the next three years in an attempt to meet the growing demand for services that can improve efficiencies and reduce costs.

The company wants its applications division, which creates solutions for a number of companies and government organisations, to provide outsourced capabilities such as data management and billing systems in order to double revenues within three years.

John Hanley, managing director of Fujistu's applications division for UK and Ireland, explained that increasing the size of the division will help the company to meet new market challenges.

"Organisations face an increasingly complex environment when making decisions about business applications. There are pressures to reduce costs and develop greater agility and efficiency, as well IT operational challenges which need to be overcome," he said.

"Fujitsu has the relationships and abilities to achieve its growth, and we now have the challenge to evolve the applications division from the IT industry's best kept secret into industry leading innovators."
