Fuji Xerox scores $4.5m NSW govt windfall

Fuji Xerox Australia has won a $4.5 million managed print services contract with the NSW government's services provider, ServiceFirst.

The four-year contract could see Fuji Xerox delivering print services on a wide scale across NSW government, with its services to become available to all clients of ServiceFirst. This includes 6,700 clients in approximately 40 NSW government agencies.

Fuji Xerox will provide multi-function devices and associated hardware and software, replacing a range of existing legacy products from different suppliers. ServiceFirst is also planning to implement secure scanning and digital sending, network and desktop printing, copying and faxing.

The outsourcing deal comes as the NSW government considers major changes to its IT delivery framework. In April it announced IT providers could register interest in delivering "back office" services currently provided by ServiceFirst.

At the time, the government announced that no decisions would be made until it had evaluated these responses in late 2014.

ServiceFirst's upgrade program lists Microsoft Outlook, Windows 7 and Unified Communications including Microsoft Lync.

Agencies migrating to this eWorkplace platform will get the most benefit from the Fuji Xerox print services, according to an Office of Finance & Services spokesperson.
