Fuji Xerox Australia head of sales Garry Gray resigns

Garry Gray, Fuji Xerox Australia executive general manager, sales, has resigned after nearly a decade with the printer vendor amid turmoil for the company.

Gray will remain with Fuji Xerox for a short time to assist with the transition before being replaced by Steve Green, a printing industry veteran who has worked with EFI, Océ, Ricoh and Kodak, on 28 September.

In a news alert sent to Fuji Xerox staff, Sunil Gupta, managing director of Fuji Xerox Australia, thanked Gray. "I know he feels he is leaving a family behind and it was not a decision that came easily.

"Garry has partnered with FXA management to ensure minimal impact to the business and to facilitate a smooth transition into [the second half], for which we thank him."

Before being appointed head of sales in 2016, Gray was executive general manager, channels and alliances.

"Garry has created and led many successful, high-performing teams in his various roles at FXA. He has delivered outstanding business results by building our strong dealer network and agent community; returning our supplies business to delivering profitable results; as well as improving the performance of our channels business," Gupta wrote.

Gray declined to comment when contacted by CRN.

The departure comes at a tumultuous time for the printing vendor, whose market share has slumped following a major investigation by parent company Fujifilm into Fuji Xerox in Australia and New Zealand.

The vendor has seen a mass exit of senior Australian staff and at least half a dozen master agents have parted ways with the printing manufacturer.
