The events are free and aimed primarily at channel partners, to inform them about how to build a profitable business around Software Asset Management SAM).
According to Matt Lowe, Centennial regional manager, APAC, FrontRange Solutions, SAM is a valuable process for reducing cost, risk of non compliance and risk of security breaches for software.
“While many IT professional are aware of the phrase, it is over-used and misunderstood and therefore rarely implemented effectively,” he said.
“While organisations have traditionally found it difficult to accurately determine the total cost of poor software management, increasingly IT leaders are recognising that better controls, processes and technologies can deliver significant cost savings and productivity gains across the enterprise,” Lowe added.
The guest speaker is Martin Callinan from FrontRange in the UK.
Prior to FrontRange Solutions, Callinan worked at Microsoft Ltd where he specialised in licence channel management and SAM and helped set up the World ESA (Enterprise Software Agreement) and the first Software Asset Management Partner program.
He represents FrontRange on various SAM professional bodies such as the committee responsible for international standards for SAM.
Topics include; Learn how to manage people, processes and technology to define an effective SAM program, Understand how SAM can save costs with volume licensing schemes, Discover what the vendors are looking for with a software audit and Hear the latest developments in the world of SAM and licence compliance.
