Security vendor Fortinet has promoted from within to replace former Australian channel chief Genevieve White, who resigned in September to take a role at Telstra.
Fiona Hodges stepped up as Fortinet's head of channel for Australia after two-and-a-half years with the company. Hodges takes on the role of head of channel, Australia for Fortinet and was appointed to the position in December.
Her appointment will see her overseeing a team of five in Australia and driving the local channel strategy, with a key focus on managed security service providers, systems integrators and mid-market partners, according to Fortinet.
Fortinet said it was looking to recruit in the mid-market entry-level space as it was also a focus for distribution.
"We also have a strong focus on our managed services partners and capability, so driving traditional business via managed services will drive growth for our partners," a spokesperson said.
Fortinet's Australian distributors are Ingram Micro, Exclusive Networks and WaveLink.
Hodges' past roles have included channel development manager at NetApp and Queensland channel account at distributor SAN Systems, now part of Arrow ECS.
Genevieve White jumped to Telstra last year to take up a role as head of north security specialist sales, cybersecurity, handling security services sales in New South Wales, Queensland and Northern Territory.
She joined Jo Roberts, McAfee Australia’s former national channel account manager, in a team led by Jacqui McNamara, Telstra’s head of security services.
