Khamis (pictured), has 20 years of IT experience having previously worked in business development roles for Symantec, Business Objects, StorageTek, and Dell.
He will support sales growth of unified threat management solutions and provide business development support for gold accredited FortiPartners, such as Dimension Data, Fujitsu, Logica, Integ, Verizon, and Seccom Global.
"I have been in the IT industry for 20 years, and have recently worked in enterprise sales roles at Symantec and Business Objects," said Khamis.
"I have watched Fortinet grow rapidly in Australia, and seen the strong shift towards security consolidation and unified threat management solutions.
"I am really pleased to now be part of the Fortinet team, and look forward to helping Fortinet's largest partners build their revenue from security services and product sales."
Timothy Strachan channel and distribution manager A/NZ for Fortinet will work with Khamis, focusing on channel marketing and business development activities for the company's distributors and silver accredited partners.
Clive Levido will continue to work with FortiPartners in New Zealand.
"Businesses around Australia are looking to get more from their security Budgets," said Charles Cote regional director South Pacific Fortinet.
"The biggest trend in the security market is consolidation, with expensive single purpose security products being rapidly replaced by unified threat management solutions.
"Security consolidation is an easy way to get more for less, and Fortinet has grown rapidly here in Australia over the last few years by riding the consolidation trend.
"Abe Khamis has a wealth of enterprise sales knowledge, and his expertise will help our FortiPartners to increase their revenue from IT security products and services," he added.
