Former Panasonic director moves to Samsung

McInnes previously worked at Telstra, MCI and Ovum Consulting.

Most recently, he was director, Communications Products Group with Panasonic Australia - he headed the business unit responsible for PBX solutions and Home Communications products.

McInnes said he wanted to move to Samsung because Steve Plant (Samsung MD) recently acquired the business from Commander and he wanted to develop and promote the Samsung product and brand.

As well as build upon key strategic business partnerships and lead new business opportunities.

"Samsung Communications is in a very strong position as a leading player in the important growth product areas of IP telephony, enterprise mobility and unified communications within the SMB market," he said.

"With our proposition, innovative OfficeServ IP solutions and highly skilled channel partners, we will grow our business and market share steadily while other vendor brands will struggle with the shift towards IP solutions and the changing economic conditions".

McInnes added Samsung Communications has a real pedigree in the SMB market.

"Together with our channel partners, we are enthusiastic about the clear and tangible opportunity to build on that base through a dynamic business model and supporting channel programs that seek to add-value at every stage and deliver the best IP communication solutions to every one of our SMB customers," he said.

McInnes is based in Melbourne.
