Former Microsoft Australia MD Pip Marlow to lead Salesforce

Salesforce has announced that former Microsoft Australia managing director Pip Marlow will join the SaaS giant as its Australia and New Zealand CEO after incumbent Mark Innes went "on sabbatical".

As CRN's sibling publication iTnews reported this week, Marlow has just left Suncorp where she oversaw a marketplace project that the bank has drastically scaled back and deemed "too ambitious" in its original form.

That situation doesn't rate a mention in Salesforce's announcement of Marlow's appointment. That document features company chairman and co-CEO Mark Benioff declaring "Pip is one of the most well-respected business leaders in Australia and New Zealand — we are thrilled to welcome her to Salesforce to lead us into the next chapter of growth and customer success in the region."

“Pip brings a unique combination of industry experience, a strong focus on customer success and a deep commitment to our values.”

Marlow's canned quote says “I’m really excited to be joining the Salesforce team. I’ve always looked to lead and learn from companies who have strong values and passion for their people, customers and innovation - Salesforce builds on this. I look forward to working with the Salesforce team to transform the connections companies have with their customers and communities.”

Mark Innes' status is unknown. A Salesforce spokesperson told CRN he is on sabbatical and that Ulrik Nehammer is the current Senior Vice President and GM Salesforce APAC.
