The Digital Transformation Agency unveiled its upgraded Digital Marketplace Panel 2 platform, connecting government buyers with more than 1300 digital and ICT service providers.

"Our Digital Marketplace Panel 2 is a pivotal part of our strategy to transform the way the government procures digital products and services," Chris Fechner, chief executive of the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) said.

The new marketplace focuses on two key areas: ICT labour hire and professional consulting services, with potential expansion into hardware, software and cloud services planned for the future.

The platform's development incorporated feedback from more than 1100 government buyers, 2200 sellers, and various industry stakeholders to improve procurement processes.

Small and medium-sized enterprises received particular attention in the platform's design, with features aimed at increasing their participation in government contracts.

The current Digital Marketplace Panel will continue to operate until 31 January 2025 to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

"It is important to note that the Digital Marketplace Panel 2 is not a one-off opportunity," Fechner said, pointing out that new suppliers can apply when the platform reopens for applications in late November 2024.
