Evolve IT wins worldwide Microsoft award

The company won the award for its implementation of a management suite for Australian Rules football clubs in WA last year.

The reseller recognised the clubs' needs to shift from manual processes that handle staff, resources and data to a more modern approach.

Evolve IT said the award is "the biggest feather in their cap" to date in its 16-year career.

"Having the opportunity to change the way all clubs in an entire league operate was a very exciting prospect," said Clayton Moulynox, Evolve IT's general manager based in the Subiaco office.

"Here was a bunch of businesses that were on a very level playing field in terms of technology, and we were about to give them a fantastic infrastructure to give them the opportunity to be more innovative and create a competitive advantage," he said.

Evolve IT's solution used Microsoft Office 2007 suite, Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 R2, and Microsoft Windows Vista Business.

Microsoft handed the award to the company that has used its technology in innovative ways to serve customers in the small- to medium-size-business market segment.

Evolve IT was noteworthy to the awards committee due to its innovative integration into a business that is not traditionally driven by technology, but instead by on-field success.

"Evolve IT has been a leading small business specialist that delivers solid small and midsize business solutions to support their customer's business operations," said Suresh Kalpathy, regional director, partner strategy and marketing for Microsoft Asia Pacific.

Evolve IT's Western Australian office was responsible for developing the winning solution.

The company won the equivalent Award at the Microsoft Australian Partner Conference in 2007 and was a finalist in 2008.

Last year, Evolve IT was named CRN's Regional Reseller of the Year.

Other Australian winners included: Kiandra Systems Solutions, Dimension Data, Zap, Ensyst, Data#3.

The award will be presented at the Worldwide Partner Conference in New Orleans on 13 July.
