Ethan Group has deployed a fleet of 3,300 iPads to the Australian Taxation Office in its latest hardware refresh.
According to the contract notice, the deal is valued at $3.2 million. Ethan Group provided 64GB iPad Air 2 devices with wi-fi and cellular connections, which have a street price of $889 each. The rollout also includes 3,400 keyboard cases.
It follows last year’s order when Ethan Group supplied 4,445 iPads under multiple contracts totaling $3.9 million for the ATO. Every ATO executive at level 1 and 2 was offered either an iPad or iPhone for work purposes. The latest iPad supply will also be available to senior executive services staff.
An ATO spokesperson said that staff previously had limited access to mobile devices at work, and that the new iPads would enable a more flexible and productive workforce.
Ethan Group founder and executive director Tony Geagea said 40 percent of the company’s annual revenue comes from government contracts. He added that Ethan Group was working with the ATO to assist with its technology initiatives.
