Enterprise work outfit Island appoints Hugh Darvall as APAC channel lead

Hugh Darvall has been appointed APAC channel lead for Island, an enterprise work platform firm.

Based in Melbourne, Darvall has the job of leading Island’s channel strategy with a focus of building strategic partnerships. He has previous enterprise and channel development experience across APAC, Island said.

Darvall said the Island role was attractive because of the company’s customer-first approach and its focus on solving the real-world challenges facing CIOs and CISOs.

“Organisations are under pressure to adopt AI and modern ways of working, but traditional approaches to security often slow teams down or create risk,” Darvall said.

“Island’s Enterprise Platform changes that dynamic — embedding security and governance directly into the workspace so businesses can move faster without compromise. I’m excited to work with partners across the region to bring this to more organisations.”

Nick Lennon, Island’s ANZ managing director, said Darvall’s experience building high-performing channel ecosystems is critical to growing Island’s APAC scale.

“We’re seeing strong demand from organisations looking to enable AI, SaaS and web-based work without compromising governance or security. [Darvall] will play a key role in helping our partners deliver these outcomes to customers,” Lennon said.
