Empired lands $10m Vic education contract

Empired has clinched a $10 million contract with the Victorian Department of Education and Training, as it continues to pursue east coast wins.

The $130 million-turnover IT provider will provide infrastructure technical services for an initial two years, with three one-year options. This will include platform support, solution design and technical advice.

Chief executive officer Russell Baskerville said the contract was the same multi-year Microsoft support contract announced by the Victorian Department of Education and Training recently.

The Perth-headquartered integrator now has a variety of east coast customers under its belt thanks to its acquisition spree, buying OBS, eSavvy and Intergen and bringing all three under the Empired brand.

The Victorian Department of Education and Training recently announced school computer contracts worth up to $80 million with Acer and Samsung.

ASG also won a Microsoft managed services deal worth up to approximately $10 million with the department.
