Data lifecycle software vendor Embarcadero Technologies has begun rolling out a strategic OEM licensing program for its model-driven data integration software.
The OEM licensing program would let ISVs use Embarcadero's commercial data integration platform DT/Studio for enterprise applications with complex data integration requirements, the vendor said in a statement.
Philip Ball, a spokesman for Embarcadero in Australia, said the US-headquartered company was also rolling out the OEM licensing initiative in Australia. DT/Studio was well-suited to Australian ISVs, he maintained.
"I have met with several ISVs already and we are heartened by the interest. We will shortly commence an active program of reaching out to these ISVs with our message. Information on this program will follow," Ball told CRN.
Embarcadero's Java-based DT/Studio was "ideal" for embedding into ISVs' homegrown products. "They are looking for a solution that gives them proven reliability at a good price and that is DT/Studio," Ball added.
ISVs could use DT/Studio instead of building their own platform or other application. TIBCO Software, Agile Software, Revenue Solutions and BladeLogic were a few of the developers using the software, Embarcadero said.
Under the OEM licence arrangement, ISVs could create reusable, pre-packaged ETL templates and ship them with the DT/Studio runtime engine. Embarcadero claims doing that can lower data integration costs and improve time-to-market.
