efex has acquired Priority 1 IT, a Queensland-based provider of IT support for medical centres, healthcare practitioners, and businesses across Darling Downs and regional Queensland.
The business currently provides its services to more than 600 companies in the region.
efex previously expanded its healthcare capability through its acquisition of Medihost Solutions, a specialist medical IT provider.
efex CEO Nick Sheehan said the acquisition reflects efex’s long-term confidence in regional Australia and its continued focus on adding capability in important customer sectors, including healthcare.
“Priority 1 is the market leader in the Darling Downs and anything west of Brisbane, which bulks up our technical capability and allows us to reach clients that require more complexity and local boots on the ground,” he said.
“They have great clients, excellent staff, alignment on tech stack and operate in a region that we’ve long believed strongly in from a growth perspective. Importantly, they also strengthen our healthcare capability, which is an area we see as strategically important for efex.”
"Joining efex gives our clients access to broader capability and deeper resources, while preserving the local service and trusted relationships that have been central to our success,” said Priority 1 founder and director Jamie Patch.
The acquisition comes after private equity firm Advent Partners invested in a majority stake in efex in 2025, a transaction that has supplemented efex’s strategy of targeted expansion through acquisition of aligned managed services businesses that strengthen its geographic footprint and deepen sector capability.
Earlier this year, efex announced the acquisition of Compusult, a Shepparton‑based MSP servicing organisations across regional Victoria, primarily the Goulburn Valley.
