EDS, a HP Company, launches innovation centre
The Future Vision Office (FVO), a world-first for EDS, will pool industry and government knowledge to support change across government agencies.

According to David Caspari, vice president for EDS A/NZ, the investment was ‘driven by a growing realisation that business transformation in government was critical to achieving greater operational efficiency and streamlining policy delivery’.

“The Future Vision Office will add another dimension to the value we deliver to the public sector by giving Government the ability to quickly embrace innovation in delivering more citizen-centric services, “ he said.

“We’ll be using our resource networks to establish what has worked best in the US, UK and Europe and applying this shared knowledge and innovative practices across different jurisdictions for our government clients in Australia.”

Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Lindsay Tanner welcomed the EDS initiative.

“In the current economic climate, there is a strong need for innovation and thought leadership to ensure that government service delivery is efficient and effective,” said Tanner.

“Proactive leadership from global companies such as EDS in supporting Government’s commitment to delivering better business and policy outcomes is to be commended.”

The new office will facilitate dialogue and knowledge-sharing between Australian government decision-makers and their international counterparts.

The FVO will be led by Nicole Cameron, who has spent the past 10 years in various strategic roles in the ICT sector, focusing on federal government, the health industry and telecommunications, and senior strategist Ross McConnell, an industry expert in business transformations.
