Eaton targets IT channel with program

Power management company Eaton has launched a partner program for IT resellers.

Eaton was traditionally focused on industrial and mobile equipment  sectors including aerospace, fuel, hydraulics, truck and automotive drivetrain and powertrain systems.

With a broadened focus into the data centre and IT space, Eaton had extended the 'PowerAdvantage Partner Program' from the US and Europe to Australian resellers.

The two-tiered program included an authorised level for resellers that didn't want to build in-house expertise and a certified level for partners with a focused power practice.

"Everyone joins at the authorised level and they automatically get an up front rebate," Darren Butterworth, national channel manager of power quality at Eaton said.

After six months, partners could apply to join the certified level. The difference between authorised and certified partners "was in the level of training achieved," the company said.

Eaton's distributors included Altech Computers, Avnet Technology Solutions, Bluechip Infotech, BMS Technology (SA), Multimedia Technology and Synnex Australia.
