DXC Technology snaps up Melbourne Microsoft partner Sable37

Global IT giant DXC Technology has snapped up Melbourne-based Microsoft partner Sable37 for an undisclosed amount.

Sable37 will be integrated with DXC Eclipse, the company's Microsoft Dynamics 365 specialist practice, along with eBECS, a global Dynamics partner that DXC also recently acquired.

Sable37 specialises in cloud-based solutions built on Dynamics 365, targeting customers in retail and distribution, homebuilding, food manufacturing and government. The company was founded by Alan Duhamel and David Attenborough in 2004 in Melbourne.

"By combining two complementary businesses we are uniquely positioned to offer unparalleled service, innovation and opportunity for customers, partners and employees," said Sable37 managing director Martin Wildsmith.

"As we transform, I look forward to building upon our joint legacy of performance; bringing together the best of both companies under DXC Eclipse.”

Last July, Sable37 put the call out looking for minor investors to help boost solution development, though a spokesperson said at a time that the company wasn't looking for an outright acquisition.

The company was named as a finalist for Microsoft's Enterprise Resource Planning award in 2017 at its global partner awards, and was included in the 2015 CRN Fast50 with 59 percent revenue growth.

Commenting on the acquisition, DXC's local managing director Seelan Nayagam said: “The acquisition of Sable37 consolidates DXC’s position as a leading Microsoft Dynamics 365 independent software integrator in the Australia and New Zealand region.

"Sable37 will grow DXC Eclipse’s global business and allow DXC to expand its cloud-first business with software, services and cloud offerings, particularly in the home builder, retail, manufacturing and distribution industry verticals.”

Sable37 marks the second Australian acquisition from DXC in the past month, following revealed plans to buy Australian Oracle cloud partner M-Power Solutions to integrate into its own Oracle practice, DXC Red Rock.

This month also marks the first anniversary of DXC's entrance in Australia, when CSC merged with HPE's services business in April 2017.
