The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) has awarded DXC Technology with a contract to supply network security hardware, software and IT support services.
The $2.8 million deal is a new contract that runs until 2023, and will be handled by the multinational’s systems integrator practice for Australia DXC Connect.
DPS said the contract is to refresh end-of-life networking equipment such as routers and firewalls, with additional hardware and software to extend its network.
A refresh of its Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure and Inter-Pod Network solution is also expected to help the department's disaster recovery capabilities.
DXC was chosen from the Digital Transformation Agency’s ICT Services Commercial Off the Shelf Software and Hardware Panel.
The department said it invited 12 companies to respond to a Request for Quotation via the panel, receiving three submissions.
“The submissions were assessed for value for money and responses to the professional services requirements and a decision was taken to award the contract to DXC Technology,” a DPS spokesperson said.
