Domino’s Pizza has started delivering games.
The fast food chain is doing a promo with Square Enix, developer of the popular Final Fantasy series.
The latest instalment of the series, Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers, is billed as “a new adventure … in a world where light ushers all unto oblivion. But hope is not yet lost, for where there is light there is shadow.”
The game debuted last week and is listed for $52.99 by Square Enix or at $54.95 for a DVD at EB Games.
Domino’s sells it for $53.95, plus three large pizzas, a garlic bread and a bottle of soft drink – or a dollar less than the DVD. The chain will even deliver that bundle at a price of $59.95.

The Pizza palace told CRN it “started partnering with gaming companies back in 2017” and has received “an overwhelmingly positive response from customers” and therefore “now regularly offer these promotions. “
“These promotions always generate a lot of interest from customers, with some of our gaming promotions selling hundreds of thousands of bundles,” a company spokesperson said. “With this Final Fantasy promotion, we currently have a limit of 10,000 voucher codes, however if our customers are hungry for more, we’ll certainly try to deliver.”
And the company hasn’t ruled out using its base to promote other technology products.
“We’re always looking for new opportunities to ‘surprise and delight’ our customers, offer them more of what they love, and to create new occasions for them to enjoy pizza,” the spokesperson said.
Which gets CRN wondering if it might one day be possible to order Office 365 with extra peperoni!
