DNA Connect scores Huawei distribution deal
Munsoor Khan

DNA Connect has been appointed as a distributor for Huawei Australia.

"We always send our technical team to evaluate the products of any potential vendor we consider partnering with – and our team was impressed with what they saw at Huawei," said Munsoor Khan, executive director of DNA Connect.

DNA Connect's marketing director Paul Sadler told CRN that Australian channel players who resold Huawei included the likes of "ASG Group, Brennan IT, BT Global Australia, Astron Technology, New Era, Nexon, R-Group, The Frame Group and SureBridge IT".

Mr Khan said Huawei invested over 10 percent of sales back into research and development and added: "Anyone who tries out these products will agree that this investment is paying off."

"Not only does Huawei have the broadest range of products from a single vendor that we've seen, the products themselves are technically world class," he said.

Last month, upon the rebrand of the distribution business to DNA Connect, Khan told CRN that a major vendor signing was coming.

"One of those vendors has a wide range of products, and that'll give us an opportunity to play in areas that we're not currently in," said Khan at the time. "We'll be ready to reveal who this new vendor is in a few weeks time."

Huawei is conducting a symposium at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney tomorrow, where the DNA Connect agreement will be introduced to the Australian channel community.

"The old adage still applies: get big, get niche or get out," said Huawei's head of enterprise, Daniel Lin. "We're big and they're niche – [it's] a recipe for success."
