Distribution Central has agreed to terms with Seagate's cloud backup brand EVault to distribute its products to the Australia and New Zealand channel.

"Australia and New Zealand have shown the biggest, regional improvement in cloud readiness," said Chris Robilliard, regional director of EVault, citing an industry study. "Today’s announcement with Distribution Central confirms our commitment to this market."

EVault's cloud backup, disaster recovery and storage-as-a-service offerings are "expected to be available" to the Distribution Central channel immediately, said a statement from the vendor.

A business unit within the distributor, SAN Systems, has been commissioned to deliver EVault's offerings.

EVault adds to Distribution Central's CloudSelect service, which "offers cloud-ready or cloud-enabled solutions, an online configurator, billing engine and other support", according to the statement.

Nick Verykios, managing director of Distribution Central, said: "We partner with technology-leading vendors such as EVault to add to our existing portfolio of cloud-ready solutions."

"Distribution Central is focused on supporting and enabling resellers... so they can take advantage of the opportunities offered by cloud."

EVault stated that "more than 43,000 companies" use its "cloud-connected backup and recovery services". The vendor started ANZ operations in September 2011, said Robilliard.

Distribution Central is headquartered in Artarmon in northern Sydney. The company has offices around Australia, New Zealand and Singapore and reported revenues of $250 million last year.
