Distie brings wearables to Australia
Runtastic's new smartwatch, the Orbit.

The number of sleep and fitness trackers in the Australia continues to grow with Powermove Distribution bringing the Runtastic Orbit to market.

The Orbit works with the Runtastic-Me app to allow users to track their daily movements, fitness activities and sleep cycles.

It tracks steps, active minutes of usage, energy burned, sleep cycles, goals and ambient lighting and is waterproof up to 91 metres. Other features include an OLED display, clock, alarm and Bluetooth Smart Technology. Orbit comes with a black clip and two wristbands, black and blue.

CEO of Runtastic Florian Gschwandtner said there's a market need for "an easy-to-use, reliable tracking product" which makes people "more familiar with their daily habits, track their sleep patterns and cycles, or achieve specific goals, such as burning more calories or completing a certain number of steps each day".

The two companies have been working together for more than two years to introduce Runtastic's range of health and fitness accessories in Australia. Retail partners include JB Hi-Fi, Big W and specialty stores.

The new gadget is their entrant into the wearable market.
