The BlueTouch Support Partner (BTSP) accreditation means that Dimension Data is the primary support contact for all Blue Coat products it sells.
According to Martin Schlatter services product manager DiData, the accreditation is critical to them because BlueTouch Certified Partners ‘enhance their customer relationships by selling value-added solutions that generate a continual service revenue stream’.
“It’s a great way to differentiate ourselves to prove that we can support the product that we sell. We want to give our customers piece of mind knowing that we can support, deliver and sell the BlueCoat product,” said Schlatter.
Once approved, a BTSP takes responsibility for delivering Blue Coat-certified Level 1 and Level 2 services directly to its end customers.
Blue Coat provides Level 3 technical support and RMA hardware support direct to the end customer.
Wayne Neich country manager A/NZ for Blue Coat added that the partnership was ‘a real cue’ because the program is by invitation only for qualified Channel Advantage Partners.
He said the benefits include ongoing revenue from support services, distinguishing its organisation as a total solution provider with its own brand of support services, backed by Blue Coat and and earning performance-based rebates from Blue Coat.
Blue Coat also recently announced it will supply BT in providing its Managed Internet Accelerator and Threat Reduction security services and is further integrating PacketShaper into its existing appliances.
