DiData wins security partner award

System integrator Dimension Data Australia has won a partner of the year award from internet security products vendor RSA Security.

A statement released by RSA Security said that Dimension Data won the inaugural award for its cross-industry sales effort and growth in the security market.

Dimension Data contributed some 20 percent of RSA Security's total new Australian customers in 2003 – the largest amount of new business for RSA Security here that year, it said.

Chris Wood, channel manager of RSA Security Australia and New Zealand, said Dimension Data had partnered RSA Security for five years. The integrator had worked well with RSA Security's team to build that relationship, he said.

'Dimension Data account managers have worked hard to identify opportunities where our products complemented other remote access and network security implementations,' Wood said.

The integrator held a 'premier partner' designation for RSA Security and offered all that company's products. The main sales focus was on an RSA SecurID two-factor authentication product, the company said.

Neil Campbell, national security practice manager at Dimension Data Australia, said RSA Security also had a strong team to work with. Also, security was a growing market.

'Our customers have identified security as one of their top five critical business issues and RSA's products are an essential building block in providing them with integrated security packages,' Campbell said.

US-based vendor RSA Security claims to have about 13,000 customers worldwide, served by about 1,000 technology partners. It focuses on providing interoperable products for establishing online identities, access rights and privileges for users, applications and devices.
