Dimension Data Australia, NTT Communications and Infront Systems have shared in a $1.8 million refresh of hardware for the Attorney-General's Department.
The contract awards, which were published on 17 April, comprise: network switching and routing hardware, licences and maintenance; server hardware, licenses and maintenance; and storage hardware, including SAN, licenses and maintenance.
A department spokesperson told CRN: "The contracts relate to the ongoing asset lifecycle process for the Department.
"The three contracts are for procurement of hardware to replace core ICT infrastructure," said the spokesperson.
"The three suppliers were chosen as their responses demonstrated overall best value for money to the department."
In March, CRN reported another federal government scoop for Infront, which picked up two contracts worth a combined $3.4 million to provide storage and network infrastructure for the Department of Social Services.
NTT Communications and Dimension Data are sister companies, both ultimately owned by Japanese telco NTT.
NTT ramped up its Australian operations last year, bringing its three local subsidiaries - Frontline, Harbour MSP and NTT Australia - under the one brand.
NTT Communications acquired a majority 70 percent stake in Frontline and Harbour MSP in December 2011. The purchase gave NTT Communications a footprint in four Australian cities.
