Dicker Data to distribute Equinix services across Australia

Distie Dicker Data has signed a deal to distribute Platform Equinix throughout Australia, a comprehensive suite of data centre and interconnections sevices.

The partnership was announced this week and allows the 2024 CRN Impact Awards winning Dicker Data to offer Equinix services to the distie's extensive network of over 10,000 active partners.

The collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency and scalability for businesses by providing access to Equinix's sustainable data centres nationwide, allowing them to deploy, connect, and secure hybrid infrastructure and multi-cloud solutions more easily.

"We're pleased to be expanding our offerings into the datacentre and interconnectivity market with global leader Equinix, particularly as we continue to see growth in our datacentre infrastructure business", Vlad Mitnovetski, executive director and chief operating officer of Dicker Data said.

Mitnovetski added that this partnership would bring the company into conversations about where and how distributed hardware is deployed and managed.

He also said that the collaboration with Equinix forms a key part of Dicker Data's artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, especially for partners deploying local AI solutions with specific power and security requirements.

Guy Danskine, managing director of Equinix Australia, said the partnership with Dicker Data will open up new opportunities for partners to increase recurring revenue streams for datacentre, network, cloud and software as a service elements on their customers' digital infrastructure.

The agreement is expected to benefit Dicker Data's partners by allowing them to capture a larger share of their end-customers' business.

It will also provide a crucial component in the solution stack for partners building dedicated AI infrastructure for their clients.

Moreover, the services offered by Equinix can potentially reduce costs for partners, such as those associated with 24/7 data centre support.
