Dicker Data launches eSports category with Micron's Crucial and Ballistix PC storage and memory hardware

PC storage and memory manufacturer Micron Technology has named Dicker Data as its newest Australian distributor.

The deal will see Dicker carry the full range of the vendor's Micron, Crucial and Ballistix brands, and also coincides with the distie's entry into eSports, with the PC-gaming oriented storage and memory products included in the new category.

“Micron has developed a strong following for our Crucial and Ballistix brands since they were introduced to the Australian market seven years ago,” Micron Technology APJ senior marketing manager Mathew Luu said.

“By working closely with Dicker Data, we’ll be able to strengthen our distribution model and elevate our growth across corporate, government, channel, and gaming businesses.”

Dicker will be the fourth Australian distributor for Micron, joining Tech Data, Bluechip Infotech and Leader Computers.

“I’m pleased to announce our new agreement with Micron. Micron are one of the world’s only few remaining manufacturers of memory products that service everything from the enterprise to the SMB and personal gaming markets,” Dicker Data chief executive David Dicker said.

“The addition of their products will further bolster our enterprise and mid-market product portfolio, whilst also assisting with our efforts to grow our presence in the eSports market.”

Last month, Dicker Data was named one of four distributors to be part of the NBN’s new ICT channel program, joining Ingram Micro, Westcon-Comstor and Aria Technologies.
