Dicker Data cracks $500 million for half year

Dicker Data has reported $531.5 million in revenue for the six months to 30 June 2015.

The distributor also saw profit after tax jump by about $8.4 million from the previous six-month period, to hit $10.1 million.

The result is a marked increase from the company's pre-Express Data revenue levels, when it reported $224.5 million in revenue for six months.

The results were helped by major increases in Cisco and HP sales, with Cisco sales up by 13.3 percent to reach $152.3 million. Cisco is now the Dicker Data's largest vendor after it acquired Express Data, and revenues have increased thanks to cross-selling to the pre-acquisition customer base.

HP sales were up by about five percent, totalling $145.9 million. Revenues here were helped by end of financial year promotions in the second quarter.

While the distributor is still on track to achieve $1 billion in revenue for the year, it now has until the end of the year to reach that milestone. Dicker Data is currently transitioning its year end from 30 June to 31 December, in order to “more closely align the financial year with the company’s trading year”.

The distributor expects pre-tax operating profit to reach $30.9 million this financial year.

In July this year Dicker Data launched its cloud marketplace, offering infrastructure, applications and other products from at least 13 different vendors.
