Dicker Data adds paid parental leave policy
David Dicker

Dicker Data has announced a new paid parental leave and salary continuance policy.

The new policy will offer staff members up to 12 weeks paid leave if their family grows or “when unexpected circumstances arise”. The latter translates into income support during illness or family emergencies.

Dicker is funding the scheme itself which matters because it means the salary continuance policy can be applied broadly at the distie's discretion, rather than tied to an insurance policy with strict conditions.

The company is therefore able to offer the new scheme without “lengthy approval and payment processes” that are so frustrating at a time of personal or family crisis.

“We founded the company on the principles of supporting women returning to work after having children back in the 1980s,” said Dicker Data chair and CEO David Dicker. “By offering support to them back then, we developed a very strong and loyal team, some of whom are still with us today. The launch of our new policies further builds on the foundations of our company and provides better support for our most important asset, our people.”

“As the company continues to go from strength-to-strength, I believe it’s important to remain focused on supporting the people that continually delivering outstanding results for our shareholders,” Dicker added.

The new policy comes on top of the distie’s recent decision to award $1000 in stock to its staff.
