Dick Smith scoops Allphones on smartphone reselling deal

Chinese smartphone vendor Oppo will sell its upcoming R7 and R7 Plus  handsets exclusively through Dick Smith.

Oppo launched in Australia in September, offering the Neo 5, R5, Find 7, N1 Mini and Find 7a exclusively through its online store.

The company then debuted in Australian retailers in December, when Allphones was signed on to distribute the Find 7, Neo 5 and N1 mini. Victorian retail chain Centre Com also sells Oppo smartphones.

Dick Smith will sell Oppo in 397 stores, including 360 retail stores, 9 Move stores and 28 kiosks within David Jones.

The R7 is powered with a Qualcomm octa-core 1.5 Ghz processor, 3GB RAM and runs Android 4.4. It also has a 5-inch screen at 1920x1080 resolution. The R7 Plus has the same specs with a slightly larger screen at 6 inches.

The R7 and R7 Plus will be available from Dick Smith from 28 July, with the current range of devices available from 14 July. Australian pricing for the R7 and R7 Plus is yet to be announced.
