Deloitte Consulting has deployed Nimble Storage infrastructure to five councils across Victoria.
The projects at Banyule City Council, City of Yarra, East Gippsland Shire Council, Mansfield Shire Council and Maroondah City Council follow Deloitte's 2015 acquisition of Melbourne-based systems integrator Cloud Solutions Group.
"Data centre modernisation initiatives seems to be the first part of their [councils'] transformation journey and Nimble Storage plays a key part in many these conversations," said Deloitte's Josh Rubens, former managing director of Cloud Solutions Group.
The company deployed Nimble Storage array and InfoSight at all councils. InfoSight provides visibility of storage and capacity to "predict and prevent issues across the entire infrastructure stack", according to Nimble.
"There are a number of Nimble value propositions that make their way into these discussions, including but not limited to the need for performance, simplicity of operation and management, capacity and scale, insights into the platform and its operations, as well as deep data analytics which today are becoming minimum customer requests," said Rubens.
Last November, Deloitte acquired Melbourne-based Cloud Solutions Group, which placed No.32 in the 2014 CRN Fast50 after achieving 28.5 percent revenue growth to hit $11.65 million.
Deloitte has invested heavily in its technology business with the acquisitions of Melbourne-headquartered Sixtree, Sydney-based Qubit Consulting and Oracle partner Dataweave, which was also a previous CRN Fast50 company.
Deloitte chief executive Cindy Hook said: "We will continue to make considered, strategic investments that are adjacent to our capabilities and that better enable our clients to respond to the rapid changes affecting their businesses."
