Dell joins local storage industry board

Dell Australia is looking to raise awareness of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) among its "customers and channel partners" by joining the association's board.

It was announced today that the PC vendor's enterprise marketing manager for A/NZ, Justin Boyd, had taken up a board position.

Boyd is responsible for Dell's server, networking and storage portfolios. He most recently introduced the Dell EqualLogic iSCSI portfolio to the A/NZ market.

The association's A/NZ chairman Craig Scroggie believed Dell's membership would mean, among other things, the benefit "of bringing a key industry leader to our strategic programs.

"We look forward to working with the Dell team in extending our educational programs," Scroggie said.

"These programs are facilitated by volunteer subject matter experts in their respective fields acting as industry evangelists."
