DataCore's local sales boss exits
Ian Heath

Software defined networking vendor DataCore’s regional sales boss Ian Heath has resigned after approximately one year in the role.

Heath left his position as regional sales director in January this year to join IBM Australia as their business unit executive, and his replacement started ths month.

Marco Marinelli takes up the role of DataCore’s regional sales director for Australia and New Zealand. Marinelli is a former HP veteran, having worked 10 years at the vendor in various roles including enterprise servers, storage and networking business development manager.

It’s the second change in a key position in DataCore’s local regional operation so far this year, with Jamie Humphrey appointed as vice-president of Asia Pacific and Japan in May. Like Marinelli, Humphrey also came from Dell.

DataCore has recorded a 50 percent increase in year-on-year sales revenue in the local territory, Humphrey said.

“Our solution is a no-brainer for any channel partner that is looking to offer their clients a quick win for storage scalability and performance. It works perfectly with the hardware brands that their clients already have, supports ultra-high availability designs, and banishes hardware vendor lock-in,” he said.

Avnet and Westcon are Datacore’s distributors in Australia, while the vendor counts Dell, Fujitsu, Cisco and Huawei and Lenovo as vendor partners.
