Data#3 scores contract with NSW Department of Education

Data#3 has led a team to a contract win with the NSW Department of Education to refresh the list of vendors for email security software.

The contract notice for the deal described it as the provision of "secure mail hygiene services" for the department’s staff email system.

A department spokesperson told CRN that Data#3 beat competing bids from 3. AC3, Websecure Technologies, ASG Group, SoftwareONE Australia, Thomas Duryea and Logicalis Australia. Websecure was the incumbent provider.

It is unclear if the incumbents are at risk as a result of the new contract. Data#3 declined to comment.

Apart from identifying the new vendors to replace and maintain the software suite, Data#3 is also tasked to “manage risks” and “maintain business continuity” as part of the deal.

Updated 12 March 4:34pm: A previous version of this story mentioned the value of the deal and the nature of the products it covers. After advice that the NSW government contract notice on which the story was based contained errors, we have removed those elements. Once the contract notice is re-published, we will revisit this story.

Updated 13 March 10:12am: comments from NSW Department of Education added.
