Data centre networking vendor Big Switch Networks has named Sydney-based Orca Tech as its third distributor for Australia, joining Newgen Systems and Sapply.
The vendor provides automated and programmable fabric based software defined networking (SDN) solutions, with Big Monitoring Fabric and Big Cloud Fabric as its two main products.
“Orca Tech is a nimble distributor with serious credentials in cyber security and monitoring. The company has quickly become the distributor of choice for next-generation, software-driven companies like Big Switch Networks,” Big Switch Networks managing director for ANZ Steve Coad said.
“We can’t wait to get to work with Orca Tech to drive support for Big Switch’s software-defined networking solutions across Australia.”
Big Switch Networks launched in Australia in 2016, appointing Newgen Systems as its first local distributor. Sapply meanwhile was signed last month, adding to its data centre portfolio.
“Big Switch Networks’ solutions are switching up traditional data centre networking,” Orca Tech general manager Craig Ashwood said.
“We’re excited to dig in with Big Switch to offer our shared customers intelligent, predictive and cloud-native solutions for their software-defined data centres—as this is where the market is headed.”
He added that Orca Tech’s partners were “seeking comprehensive solutions to differentiate their offerings” and that Big Switch “helps meet this requirement”.
