An Australian co-location provider is on the hunt for resellers after entering the market with space for 544 racks.
New Perth outfit Datacenter Limited (DCL) has opened an ISO-containerised data centre in the suburb of Balcatta. The centre is designed to host virtualised environments, high-performance computing and hybrid cloud deployments.
DCL said it uses patented technologies to transform ISO containers into secure, configurable, portable suites with plug-and-play data centre rack space. Each suite has standalone power, cooling, communications and security that can be customised for either small or large modular deployments.
DCL offers reseller and referral partner programs, and plans to expand to the east coast of Australia as well as Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.
The company's leaders include chairman Stuart Korchinski, formerly managing director of Kaz Business Services, and Pat Cleary, whose CV includes senior roles at Intercad, Optus, AAPT and Telstra.
Korchinski said the data centre was established at a fraction of the cost of traditional data centres, allowing DCL to pass on the savings to customers.
“We took the view that Perth required a true co-location specialist that used the next generation of ISO-containerised technology to service the needs of telcos, IT service providers and cloud companies who do not wish to finance, build, own or operate their own data centres,” he said.
“We leave carriage, managed and cloud services to our partners, providing them with access to low-cost, highly specialist infrastructure and an ecosystem that will help them deliver better services to their clients and end users.”
