Prefabricated modular data centre specialist DXN has won a $12.2 million contract with an unnamed AI compute operator for a AI High-Performance Computing (HPC) modular datacentre.
The deal takes the company’s AI HPC order book to approximately A$21 million, following on from the company's maiden AI HPC contract announced in June 2026.
Under the terms of the contract, DXN will design, engineer, manufacture, deliver, install and commission a complete turnkey 2MW AI HPC data centre. The solution combines new purpose-built DXN AI modules, joined to form a single high-density data hall, with the upgrade of existing infrastructure on site.
Power, cooling, fire detection and suppression, security and building management systems will be fully integrated.
The contract represents the first phase of a potentially larger deployment opportunity. The facility has been engineered with expansion in mind. Subject to successful delivery of this phase, DXN expects to be well positioned to participate in potential future opportunities.
Detailed design and long-lead procurement will commence immediately, with the customer’s site targeted to be operational in early calendar year 2027. To deliver this contract, DXN will draw on its expanding production network, spanning the eastern seaboard, Malaysia and Perth, assisted by the additional factory capacity funded through its June 2026 capital raise.
Shalini Lagrutta, MD of DXN, said this contract will result in 2MW of high-density GPU capacity, expected to be online inside the next 12 months.
"DXN has been selected because the requirement is one that conventional construction cannot meet within the timeframe," she said.
“This is the first phase of a potentially larger deployment, and delivering this phase well, places DXN in a strong position for future phases. We look forward to delivering the project and supporting future capacity requirements should they grow."
Last week, DXN has inked a $4.1 million contract with the operator of Melbourne Airport for the supply of a prefabricated edge data facility.
