Data analytics vendor Qlik completes IRAP assessment

Data analytics and software integration company Qlik said it has successfully completed the Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) at the Protected Level.

Administered by the Australian Cyber Security Centre, the IRAP classification allows Australian government agencies to use Qlik's data analytics platform with the assurance that it meets federal government security guidelines.

Qlik's government sector customers include the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), Australian Department of Health and Aged Care, NSW Department of Customer Service, and the Australian Defence Force.

The company said its platform is also used by almost two-thirds of state health departments in Australia.

"The completion of our assessment is testament to our dedication to maintaining the highest cybersecurity standards, delivering substantial value to chief information officers and chief security officers within the Australian government," Qlik's Asia-Pacific senior VP Geoff Thomas said.

"This classification as Protected Level reflects Qlik’s commitment to providing secure, reliable data solutions to streamline and optimise processes for government agencies.”

DEWR has used Qlik's platform for data-based decision-making and program management since 2016

The IRAP classification means the agency can now fully implement the solution.

“We use Qlik’s data analytics platform every day to influence government policy, inform operational decisions and support program management," DEWR's Qlik engagement team director John Carroll said.

"Accurate data allows us to make informed decisions that support all Australians and to communicate with our stakeholders more effectively."

"This new classification further propels our move to the cloud, allowing us to future-proof our operations and help deliver a best-in-class employment infrastructure.”
