Daniel Dobbins’ recent jump from Acclario IT to become GM of workplace solutions specialists Digital First Australia was a move driven by a mix of “timing, opportunity, and alignment”.

Dobbins was the GM of sales at Acclario since April of last year before making the move to Digital First Australia earlier this month, having also previously worked at Crayon as modern workplace services manager - APAC, as well as sales director at 365 Solutions Group.

Despite his time at Acclario IT being “a rewarding chapter both professionally and personally”, Dobbins told techpartner.news that what drew him to Digital First Australia was both their people-first culture and the way they approach partnerships — not just as vendors, “but as trusted advisors”.

“I saw a chance to contribute to something meaningful, work with a talented team, and help shape the next phase of growth,” he said.

“Plus, the energy around the business and its vision for the future is genuinely exciting."

That next phase of growth is likely to include something to do with employee experience, he predicts - Dobbins said that customers are looking for more cohesive, intuitive digital environments that reduce friction and genuinely empower their teams.

“That means better intranet design, smarter integrations, and more thoughtful governance across platforms like Microsoft 365,” he said.

“Another key trend is the move toward automation and decentralised services.

"Organisations want to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort, but they also want flexibility — giving teams the ability to configure and adapt their own digital spaces without relying on IT for every change.”

On the flip side, Dobbins said one of the big challenges in the space is data and records management, with “many customers” still wrestling with legacy systems and fragmented data.

“There’s a real need for strategic migration and governance to ensure compliance and usability,” he told techpartner.news.

“We’re also seeing growing interest in custom business applications — especially those built on Power Platform and Dynamics — to automate processes and connect systems in more meaningful ways.”
