New D-Link chief K=Jacky Chang

D-Link has wasted no time in appointing a new managing director following the sudden departure this week of long-serving MD Domenic Torre, who is leaving the company after 14 years.

Sliding into the hot-seat is Jacky Chang who has spent 16 years with the networking company, most recently serving as VP of South Asia.

“D-Link is a fast growing company, with an expanding range of networking products for businesses and enterprises that are really unique.  My focus will be on further growing the business through close associations with our channel partners and customers in the ANZ market,” said Chang in a statement.

“One of my key goals will be to look at further improvements where we can work smarter and faster, and provide greater value to our customers,” Chang added. CRN has requested an interview with Chang, however he was not available at press time.

Outgoing managing director Torre is reported to have said he was considering his departure for some time, and that he felt with the company’s organizational complexity, he was being spread thin. He said he felt it was wrong to stay in his role with thoughts of leaving in the back of his head.

Chang has moved into the managing director, Australia and New Zealand, role immediately.
