VoiceCentre uses the first Microsoft Response Point Phone System to be introduced to Australia.
According to Maurice Famularo, marketing director, D-Link A/NZ, the product is a PBX phone system for small businesses of between two and 50 people. It can be installed on their premises and is voice activated.
“It’s easy to install and set up so resellers and VAR will have a field day setting this all up. In February it will integrate with Microsoft’s small business servers,” said Famularo.
“The idea is, it’s designed to be simple, expandable, easy to install, with the ability to add additional phones and no fees for licences,” he added.
Famularo claims there are no real small business phone systems for resellers around at the moment and the ones that are available are expensive.
“This is a way of increasing revenue for resellers because it’s a solution that they can sell. They can also sell more networking hardware with it as well, it’s a services revenue generating activity for them,” he added.
According to D-Link, it has already had a lot of interest for the phone system.
Famularo said the products will be available at the end of the month but it is not selling anything until it has gone through accreditation training.
“We are recruiting resellers now to fit a simple criteria; such as do they have a standard technology, do they have the right business focus/structure ie support to sell the product and do they have a decent customer base to work with,” he said.
D-Link has appointed a single distributor, Ingram Micro, for this particular product and it will be sold only to D-link authorised resellers. The training is in January to late February.
