CyberCX grows team by two
L to R: Angelo Friggieri and Stuart Mort.

CyberCX has appointed Stuart Mort as tech and telco industry lead and Angelo Friggieri as public sector industry lead.

Both roles are global appointments that will help support CyberCX’s growing tech, telco and government customer base across the region.

Mort brings over 25 years’ of experience from the foundations of information warfare through to modern cyber security. He was most recently partner of technology risk and cyber at
KPMG Australia.

Prior to this, he was at Optus, where he was the CTO of cyber and ICT solutions, and before that the CTO of cyber security, as well as at Oracle, where he was the VP of information security - CISO.

Friggieri brings more than 20 years designing and leading digital and cyber security transformation projects for government customers. He was most recently GM of federal government and higher education at Wipro.

Prior to this, he was at Accenture for over 16 years, serving as the MD of security government and health growth markets in his last role there.

Mort said telecommunications and technology industries are the foundation of Australia’s digital ecosystem, enabling critical infrastructure that supports enterprise and government, and facilitates the connections Australians rely on to stay in touch with family and friends.

"Yet as CyberCX’s own Cyber Threat Report shows, tech and telco sector organisations are firmly in the crosshairs of malicious actors both in our region and globally,” he said.

Friggieri said from a strategic level, government sets Australia’s whole-of-nation response to cyber threats and works across the economy to uplift our national defences.

"I have seen firsthand across my career how government and the public sector has mobilised to meet a deteriorating threat environment and better position Australia to defend and respond to cyber events, but as criminal groups become more brazen and nation-states evolve their cyber espionage tactics it has never been more important for government agencies and organisations to anticipate and prepare for future threats,” he said.

“CyberCX has an unmatched cyber capability in the region that draws on significant skills and experience at all levels of the organisation. The company’s mission – securing our communities – resonates with me personally, making joining CyberCX a compelling choice for customers.”

Last month, Accenture agreed to acquire CyberCX.
