CRN Poll – Channel doubts reality of multi-cloud

CRN’s most recent fortnightly poll asked “Is multi-cloud really happening?”

That’s a question we posed as we keep hearing different definitions of “multi-cloud”.

Sometimes it means using two or more IaaS providers. We’ve also heard it used to describe using a mix of IaaS and SaaS. Or even multiple SaaS products, which may run in the cloud but aren’t clouds to the editorial team’s way of thinking.

Here’s how 155 of you responded.

While there’s some cynicism on display here in the form of 42-vote/27 percent support for the response “The term multi-cloud is dumb. Nobody ever talked about multi-software”, most of you seem to think that multi-cloud is real and happening.

Even if we can’t agree on a single definition of what it actually is …

Our next poll is more straightforward: the Federal Government has approved a replacement for the 457 visa scheme that once again makes it possible to hire skilled technology workers from overseas.
