Compuware joins Cisco developer network

Compuware has finished interoperability between its Vantage product and Cisco's network analysis modules after joining the giant's developer network.

The company said today it had joined Cisco program as a solution developer.

The developer network program enabled Cisco and third-party developers to test interoperability of solutions for customers.

Compuware's Vantage product was used to provide customers with end-to-end management of application performance.

"Combining application performance management and network monitoring will help an IT organisation view its network events in their application context," said Will Cappelli, Research VP of Gartner.

"This helps improve the availability of the network infrastructure and shorten the response time for noticing and repairing network issues."

A Compuware spokesman said that "Vantage interoperating with Cisco NAM will enable IT organisations to respond to poor application and network performance before it affects the business.

"Performance problems can be more easily isolated and corrected which will save IT resources and restore service quickly," he said.
